Dear Ukrainians! The local election campaign is coming to the end. Tomorrow is a day of silence in Ukraine. Then there will be voting, counting and setting the results.

Today, from the position of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I want to sum up the results of this stage of the election campaign.

You see the statistics on the pre-election stage.

Together with the Central Election Commission and the civic organization “OPORA”, we responded to all appeals and checked all signals. Unfortunately, there are many signs of criminal violations among the detected offenses.

Here are two striking examples.

A group of people, including the head of the election commission, was detained in Odessa for attempting to organize an election “network”. During the investigation, almost 45 thousand US dollars were seized, which the violators planned to use to bribe the voters according to the investigation.

Another "network" was documented by Chernihiv police. During the car search of the head of one of the structural units of the Bakhmatsky District State Administration, law enforcement officers found voter lists with the scheme of so-called "foremen" and 66 thousand hryvnias. According to preliminary calculation, the network covered more than 5,000 people.

In total, the National Police has opened more than 500 criminal proceedings for bribing voters, obstructing the exercise of suffrage, and providing false information to the State Register of Voters. Each of them will be investigated and given a legal assessment.

I also appeal to the participants of the election process - from candidates to members of commissions – with the request to not spoil your life with punishment for breaking the law, it is not worth it. Respect yourself and respect the Law!

Today, I am glad to say that in the next election campaign, the police and all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs demonstrate equal distance from all political forces and are guided only by the Law.

No party, no candidate receives any preferences, but everyone receives security and protection of their rights.

This principle is no longer a sensation, it is not a “loud” headline for the news. Instead, it has become common practice for the Ukrainian police.

I think this is a good assessment of the quality of Ukraine's law enforcement system!

Ahead are the responsible stages such as voting and setting results.

That is why I appeal to candidates and election headquarters one more time - do not even try to resort to throw-ins, "carousels", bribing voters and other dirty schemes!

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is rigidly adjusted to react to violations! Sufficient operational groups have been put on duty, and all units, from aviation to explosives technicians, are ready. In total, almost 140,000 police officers are involved in ensuring public safety and order during the local elections.

Please do not provoke or check the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for strength! We have enough strength, means, motivation and determination to ensure a perfect local election process across the country!

Let's end this campaign as clean, clear and honest as the previous presidential and parliamentary elections!

Take care of yourself and your loved ones, follow the rules of quarantine, and vote free and impartially. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure your legal right to make your choice!
