In order to instill a deep respect for their country, the formation of national consciousness in students and cadets, a thematic online event "My Ukraine, you are strong and independent!" was held in Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

As a part of this event, the head of the Department of Humanities Nadiia Demydenko together with 1st year students and 1-2 year cadets discussed the topic "United. Free. Independent ". Nadiia Demydenko noted that the signing of the Act was preceded by difficult negotiations: the Western Ukrainian People's Republic saw a great danger in the possibility that Eastern Ukrainians could be absorbed by Russia. The Directory has therefore made a major commitment to help Halychyna regain all its ethnic territories.

The participants of the event were offered to watch the video chronicle and photos of the events of January 22, 1919. With special reverence, the participants of the event listened to an excerpt from the text of the "Universal of Unity", read on St. Sophia Square by a member of the Directory, Professor of Kyiv University Fedor Shvets: "Henceforth in all lands of Ukraine, divided by centuries , Greater Ukraine. Dreams for which the best sons of Ukraine lived and died became a reality. There will be one, independent Ukrainian People's Republic forever." And although Kyiv will be captured by the Bolsheviks in two weeks, reunion event, as the cadets present at the event noted in their responses, should remain in the genetic memory of Ukrainians forever as a guide in building a modern state.

Hanna Mititiel, a leading specialist in the human resources department, stressed that the Day of Unity is a reminder that the strength of our state is in unity, and patriotic events, meaningful and interesting excursions into the history of our country play an extremely important role in educating of our cadet in higher education institution. It is for them to build a modern, spiritually rich, free and democratic Ukraine, which our descendants will be proud of.
