Applicants for higher education of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Dmytro Shvets, First Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel, Olena Ustymenko, Head of International Cooperation Department, and representatives of academic staff of KhNUIA took part in the online information event "NATO Day".

The event was aimed at informing young people about the implementation of the state policy of Euro-Atlantic integration, raising awareness about the activity and development of the North Atlantic Alliance and understanding of the main directions of Ukraine-NATO cooperation in the security sector.

Tetiana Kovalchuk, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and Vineta Kleine, Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine, started the information event.

Tanya Hartman, Head of the Eastern Partnership Division of the NATO International Secretariat, Barbora Maronkova, Representative of the NATO Partnership Department of the Public Diplomacy Division of the NATO International Secretariat, Inna Potapova, Head of the Expert Group for the Development of Annual National Programmes under the Auspices of NATO-Ukraine Commission of the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine of the Secretariat of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Liudmyla Chubynska, Head of the Main Department of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Directorate for Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anastasiia Mishkina, Senior Programmer Officer of the NATO-Ukraine Professional Development Programme, Nadja Milanova, Representative of the NATO Building Integrity Programme of the NATO International Secretariat and Vineta Kleine, Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine, delivered the informative reports.

The speakers considered the issues concerning NATO activities, key principles and priorities of the Organization, strategic concepts for NATO 2030, the Annual National Programme as an essential document of Euro-Atlantic integration, the current state and perspectives of Euro-Atlantic security integration during the event. In addition, the speakers paid considerable attention to practical support of Ukraine, by the example of the NATO Professional Development Programme, the NATO Building Integrity Programme, implementation of training programmes in the security and defense sector and strategic communications and fighting against disinformation.

The participants were fully engaged in the information event – they joined the quiz with commemorative prizes on the topic “NATO”, asked speakers about NATO activities and cooperation between NATO and Ukraine. Applicants for higher education received comprehensive answers from the speakers.
