The Faculty is a structural subdivision of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, whose main task is to train qualified specialists for the National Police of Ukraine on the basis of a State order on an extramural form of study.

The Faculty trains specialists in accordance with current legislation and the State standards of education on the basis of a combination of modern methods of educational, methodological, scientific and organizational work. The Faculty, together with the University’s Departments and Research Laboratories, is constantly working on improvement of the educational process, creation of new and renovation of existing educational programs and curricula, and preparation for the publication of manuals, teaching aids, methodological recommendations, etc.

The Faculty trains specialists for the National Police of Ukraine on the basis of a State order on an extramural form of study at the following educational levels:

- “Bachelor’s degree” in “Law Enforcement(262), on the basis of the complete general secondary education and educational qualification level “Junior Specialist” with a 4 year period of study;

- “Master’s degree” in “Law Enforcement” (262), on the basis of the bachelor degree in “Law” (081) or “Law Enforcement” (262), and on the basis of the bachelor and specialist degree of any other specialty (specialization) with the term of apprenticeship of 1 year and 8 months.

Cooperation with the component units of the National Police is an integral part of the educational process of the Faculty. In particular, the Faculty cooperates with the Main Departments of the National Police in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Poltava, Sumy, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi regions, as well as with leading educational institutions of Ukraine and the Commonwealth of Independent States that train specialists for law enforcement agencies by correspondence.

Today, the Faculty has more than 600 students from all regions of Ukraine. All conditions for studying are created for the students: modern lecture halls, classrooms for seminars and practical classes, computer classes. Modern education is impossible without creating a proper information environment. That is why the modern general library of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs is at the disposal of students: ten reading rooms, a large collection of scientific, educational and periodical literature, literature in foreign languages. The library's information retrieval system, which, according to many experts, is one of the best in Ukraine, greatly facilitates the search for information necessary for students to study.
