It became known during the meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov with the delegation of Airbus Group. The event was also attended by Yurii Husiev, Director General of Ukroboronprom, and Yuliia Svyrydenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The parties discussed the progress in the implementation of the contract between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Airbus Helicopters for the supply of 55 helicopters, as well as the prospects for cooperation expansion.

"Given the growing number of aircraft coming from the manufacturer, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to actively deploy a system for maintenance and repair of Airbus Helicopters aircraft in Ukraine. The center of technical support will be the town of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. In the future, this site will maintain helicopters of our European partners as well," Arsen Avakov said.

In turn, the French partners announced changes in the schedule of helicopters procurement in the 2021-2022 period. It is planned to supply 26 helicopters in 2021 and 18 in 2022.

The Airbus Group delegation also noted that the H225 helicopter full-flight simulator (FFS) is currently being installed at the training center of Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs to train aviation staff. The installation completion as well as operation start are scheduled in August 2021.
