Online event “Polish training center – presentation of the Road Trafficking Department” with the participation of representatives of the Center for Police Training in Legionowo (the Republic of Poland) was held in Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The event was organized with the support of the EUAM Field Office in Kharkiv City.

Dmytro Shvets, the Rector of the University, Leonid Mohilevskyi, the Vice-rector of KhNUIA, and the management of the Center for Police Training in Legionowo such as Marcin Schindler, Deputy Commander of educational work and Yaroslav Zgyerski, the Head of the Road Trafficking Department took part in the event.

Robert Zolkiewski, the Head of the EUAM Field Office in Kharkiv thanked the participants from Ukraine for the participation and the possibility of such presentation holding in the online mode. Dmytro Shvets, the Rector of the University expressed confidence to continue fruitful cooperation with EUAM Field Office in Kharkiv and thanked Robert Zolkiewski, the Head of the EUAM Field Office in Kharkiv for support for the initiatives of the University and the possibility of such online event holding with representatives from the Republic of Poland.

At the beginning of the meeting, the participants were shown an informative video on the activities of the Center for Police Training in Legionowo and the main areas of police training. The infrastructure, possibilities and directions of the Centre’s interaction with police institutions of the Republic of Poland and educational establishments of foreign countries were introduced.

Yaroslav Zgyerski, the Head of the Road Trafficking Department informed participants about the history of the establishment of the Center for Police Training in Legionowo, told about the courses, various types of training, etc. The structure of the course “Road Traffic Practice” and the modules of which it is composed, namely: basics of road traffic, the performance of road duties, seizure of documents, inspection of the technical condition of vehicles, basic accident operations, primary health care delivery, etc.

Representatives of higher-education teaching personnel of the Department of Tactical and Special Physical Training of the Faculty No. 2, representatives of the Department of
International Cooperation and the research laboratories of the University also participated in the online meeting.
Leonid Mohilevskyi the Vice-Rector of the University summarized the outcome of the event, who noted that the gained knowledge would be used by teachers in their future professional activities in future police officers’ training and expressed the hope that such a meeting would be held after the end of the quarantine restrictions.
