The scientific work with students continues at the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines. A distance meeting of the philosophical circle took place under the guidance of Svitlana Mohilova, Associate Professor of the Department. The fundamental principles of the theory of American political and social scientist Samuel Huntington on the pattern of conflicts in the modern period were considered. Although this theory for the first time was released to the public in 1992, and later published in the book “The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order” in 1996, it did not lose its relevance even nowadays, at the period of incidents of military conflicts and escalation of the situation between the world’s leading countries. According to this theory the multipolarity, based on culture (civilizations) conflicts would change the bipolarity, existed in the latter half of the 20 th century, and based on conflicts of ideologies. One of such civilizations is Orthodox-Slavic one. The lecturer emphasized this in her introductory remarks. The blocks of text were elaborated. The members of the circle expressed their views concerning the current author’s forecast implementation.
