On the eve of Remembrance Day of Holodomor in 1932-1933, a ZOOM meeting with a witness to those terrible events was organized for cadets and students of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

The guest and charming speaker was 98-year-old Mariia Andriivna Dumchykova, who is the grandmother of the branch employee, a clerk of the office Yevheniia Dumchykova. During the conversation, Mariia Andriivna shared the memories with students and cadets that were connected with her village Dobrenske, Velyko-Pysarivskyi district. "When the Holodomor of 1932-1933 began, I was 11 years old. I lived very hard, I felt what hunger was like, when there was nothing to eat and no one would help you, when whole families and villages died out. Nowhere in the world there has been such a famine as in Ukraine, in one of the most fertile countries on the planet. "The memories were touching to tears.

Hanna Mititiel, a leading expert of the Department of Human Resources present at the conference, noted that the Holodomor was one of the worst events in Ukraine. Young people and the younger generation should always remember the history of their country. Thanks to patriotic events, a multifaceted and highly educated personality is formed.

The young people thanked Mariia Andriivna for the meeting, for the sensitive memories and wished her good health, prosperity and family well-being.
