For the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian writer Lesia Ukrainka, employees of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs prepared a video reciting one of the most famous poems of the poetess "Contra spem spero!", which was first published in the poetry collection "On the wings of songs" 1893, published in Lviv. The immediate impetus for writing the work was one of the difficult periods of exacerbation of the poet's illness, which she jokingly called the "Sisyphus stone." After the poem, the expression "Contra spem spero!" became a winged expression, because it found a figurative embodiment of the neo-romantic ideal of a strong personality, indomitable spirit, denial of helplessness, passivity and indifference.
