Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs - Head and Deputy Head of the RL on Crime Enforcement Kostiantyn Buhaichuk and Oleksii Serdiuk - together with representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) conducted an online training "Drug Policy from a Health Perspective". The participants of the training program were representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the university and practical units of the National Police of Ukraine - employees of the Department for Combating Drug Crime and all its regional offices.

Among the problematic issues addressed by the training program, the participants of the online event considered the following: the nature of addictive behavior, prevention, and treatment of addiction, international standards of care for addicts, human rights, overcoming stigma and discrimination in drug policy of Ukraine, combating drug trafficking new drugs, comorbidity, interventions in populations with special clinical needs, policy development for addicts, practical situations related to combating drug trafficking. Regulations and methodical recommendations on referral to drug treatment facilities of persons using drugs and in the field of view of the police, developed by the RL on Crime Enforcement issues together with the UNODC, were presented.

The joint event is a continuation of the cooperation between KhNUIA and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on issues related to the fight against drug trafficking, scientific and legislative support of this process.
