Kseniia Yurtaieva, the Associate Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology Department of the Faculty No. 1 of KhNUIA and Olha Bakaieva, a Lecturer of the Department of Legal Sciences of Sumy Branch of KhNUIA took part in the Autumn School of Criminal Law “Laboratory of Criminal Law-Making” within the project of “Improvement of Legal Education and Human Rights Education” implemented by the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
As part of the work of the Autumn School of Criminal Law, University Lecturers took part in the discussion of a wide range of issues, such as provisions of the new criminal law, taking into account the interests of various social groups and public policy; provisions for the development of values and ideas that will shape the worldview of the new Criminal Code; ECHR practices and gaps in Ukrainian criminal law; punishment, sentencing and the use of other criminal remedies in the draft Criminal Code; issues of the Special Part of Criminal Law in the draft Criminal Code; issues of human rights protection and gender equality in the teaching of criminal law.
At the end of the event, Kseniia Yurtaieva and Olha Bakaieva received certificates of participation in the Autumn School of Criminal Law "Laboratory of Criminal Law-making".
