Online meeting of the scientific circle of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Faculty No. 1 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs on the topic “Criminal-law and criminological means of combating crime: the challenges of the XXI century” took place in 2021 for the first time.

The reports were made by 4th year cadets of the Faculty No. 1 Nataliia Rastorhuieva on “Countering cybercrime in a COVID-19 pandemic” and Aniuta Hrubnik “On the role of criminal law in Ukraine in combating the spread of acute respiratory disease in Ukraine COVID-19, induced by coronavirus SARS-COV-2”.

During the discussion of the reports, a scientific discussion took place in terms of interest, friendliness and constructive dialogue.

The scientific director of the circle, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Andrii Yashchenko, summarized the work of the circle in the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year and focused on the achievements of the cadets:

  1. Three scientific articles and six scientific reports were prepared and published.
  2. 4th year cadet of the Faculty No. 1 Aniuta Hrubnik took part in the Competition of student scientific works, dedicated to the memory of academician V.V. Stashys “Criminal law in the context of globalization of social processes: traditions and innovations”, which took place at the Scientific-Research Institute for the Study of Crime Problems named after Academician V.V. Stashys. Her scientific work on the topic “Criminal legislation of Ukraine on the prevention of the occurrence and spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-COV-2 in Ukraine” was recognized as the best in the category “Students”. Aniuta Hrubnik was awarded a 1st degree diploma.
  3. Roman Romaniv, a 3rd year cadet of the Faculty No. 4, took part in the All-Ukrainian competition of small grants for young scholars in the field of criminal law, criminology and criminal executive law, which was initiated by the “All-Ukrainian Association of Criminal Law”. The cadet's scientific work on “Comparative-critical analysis of the provisions of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on liability for crimes committed by the criminal community” was recognized as the best in the category “Students”, and its author was awarded a diploma and a cash prize.

The supervisor noted the most active cadets and wished all members of the scientific circle inspiration for fruitful scientific activity in the 2nd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.
