On the Day of the Defender of Ukraine the ceremonial events on the occasion of the taking the Oath of Police officer by first-year cadets were held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. During all the period of study young men and women are brought up by the staff of the University as courageous, strong, fearless, faithful to duty and officer honor, because they are the future defenders of the order and law in our country.
The celebration ceremony began with the introduction of the University Flag and the State Flag of Ukraine.
700 first-year cadets were congratulated on the occasion of the taking the Oath and on the Day of the Defender of Ukraine by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov, Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who sent the greeting telegrams.
The Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksii Kucher, the Head of Kharkiv Regional Council Serhii Chernov, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Bakumov, took part in the event in order to congratulate young men and women. The Adviser Mykola Pakhnin congratulated cadets on behalf of the Chairman of the University Supervisory Board Iryna Yefremova. The Head of the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region Valerii Sokurenko, wished inspiration and assiduity in the study and addressed parting words from the Head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko.
Rector of the University Dmytro Shvets, the previous rectors, colonel-generals of militia Oleksandr Bandurka and Serhii Husarov, urged the cadets to be honest, brave and humane , to carry the police rank with dignity. Vice-rectors of the University, Deans of the Faculties, staff of the University units took part in the event.
A minute of silence in honor of the patriotism, courage, loyalty and heroism of those who deceased for the unity and independence of Ukraine was hold.
Young men and women, who have chosen the difficult, but extremely important for the society profession of law enforcement officer, have made a lot of efforts to make their dream come true. They insistently studied specialized subjects, physically developed, because the future police officer must have not only high-quality knowledge, but also should be physically endurable, be able to resist the criminal and, if necessary, lend assistance to those who need it.
Future investigators, specialists of preventive units, cynologists, patrol police officers, officers of cybercrime units and operatives of the National Police have vowed to faithfully serve the Ukrainian people, remember the words of the Oath and always follow the law. Such defenders of law and order are expected in the practical units of the National Police.
The performances of the University amateur art group, units of the Honor Guard’ and drum band were in the end of the celebration ceremony. The events were held in compliance with all quarantine requirements.
