Cadets and students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, including Sumy Branch and Kremenchuk Flight College took part in a three-day workshop on “Human Rights”.

Saer Ammar, Adviser on Rule of Law of the Regional Representative Office of the European Union Advisory Mission in Kharkiv City introduced applicants of higher education to basic
human rights and paid attention to international and regional documents concerning human rights. It was also noted that Ukraine was a member of the Council of Europe and a signatory to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
Questions of adherence to human rights, the prohibition of discrimination in law enforcement activity, human rights in investigations, why human rights standards can be applied in police activity and human rights in emergencies, Coronavirus influence on particular social groups, etc. were considered over the course of three days.
Applicants for higher education actively participated in the discussions, expressed their thoughts, and answered the questions of the lecturer.
Upon completion, all participants received certificates of participation from the European Union Advisory Mission.
