Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs - Deputy Head of the Educational and Methodological Department, Police Major Serhii Marchyshyn and Associate Professor of the Department of Criminology, Forensic Expertise and Pre-medical Training, Faculty № 1, Lieutenant Colonel Tetiana Matiushkova took part in a virtual international seminar on the development of a training course on police response to the threat of theft of ionizing radiation sources during use, storage or transportation.  The event was held within the joint project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Department of Radiological Safety of the US Department of Energy on the basis of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.

The participants of the training were representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and four basic institutions of higher education with specific learning conditions that ensure the development of the course.

After the seminar, all participants received certificates, which were solemnly presented by Hennadii Honcharuk, Deputy Director of the Directorate for Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and Roman Blahuta, Colonel, Rector of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.

After development, this training course is planned to be introduced into basic training for all police officers in Ukraine.
