At the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty № 1 of KhNUIA a meeting of the scientific circle on the topic "Sociolinguistic competence of foreign language communication" was held. Associate Professor Valentina Pochueva spoke about the essence and structure of sociolinguistic communicative competence. It was emphasized that all components of sociolinguistic competence are interconnected through the concepts of cultural and social contexts and should be mastered in a comprehensive way.
The use of sociolinguistic information in the educational process promotes the conscious assimilation of material, increases the cognitive activity of learners, promotes positive motivation, stimulates independent work on language, promotes moral and aesthetic education of youth.
