Head of the Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Fedorenko Olena Ivanivna
The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy has been training psychologists since 1994, is a specialized department in the specialty 053 “Psychology” and provides training for bachelor's and master's degrees.
The scientific and pedagogical staff of the department teaches 53 academic disciplines, which have the necessary educational and methodological support. The staff of the department conducts research within the theme “Professional, cultural and personal development of future specialists in the educational environment of a higher education institution” (state registration number 0123U105020).
Since 1998, the Department's academic staff has prepared and published 16 textbooks, and more than 400 articles on topical scientific issues of modern psychology and pedagogy have been published in professional journals. All lecturers of the Department take an active part in national and international scientific and practical conferences.
The Department has a scientific club in psychology, whose members take an active part in student conferences, competitions, and contests held both between higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science. The head of the group is Professor of the Department, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor S.V. Kharchenko.
The curators of the study groups from the Department actively involve cadets in the cultural life of the university, organize visits to theaters, museums, and exhibitions.
In order to improve the preparation of cadets for future professional activities, the staff of the Department constantly cooperates with police officers of the Main Department of the National Police in the regions of Ukraine, involving them in conducting classes.
