The Department trains specialists for the units of the National Police in the field of knowledge 07 “Management and Administration” in the specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation (Accounting Analytics)”; provides training in academic disciplines under the educational (professional) program 071
“Accounting and Taxation (Accounting Analytics)”, as well as disciplines: Logic, Political Science, Police Deontology, Sociology, Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, Legal Logic.

The Department provides the annual International scientific and practical conference "Current Issues of Legal, Economic and Social Development of the State".

The main directions of scientific interests of the Department: studying of problems of economic security; combating economic and financial crime; vectors of sociological researchers; theoretical and practical principles of ensuring human rights in a democratic state governed by the rule of law, etc. Employees of the National Police and employees of the financial and credit industry are involved in educational and methodological work and conducting additional classes in certain disciplines.

In order to improve the system of knowledge testing, tests of various categories of complexity and situational games are used, video lectures on disciplines read for part-time students, phono-consultations are prepared.

The Department has scientific groups in economics and humanitarian disciplines, which are attended by about 30 cadets.

As part of the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department takes an active part in the training of Police Patrol Service and specialists in combating cybercrime.

Lecturers of the Department take part in the review of scientific works, candidate's dissertations, abstracts, draft laws, act as official opponents in specialized scientific councils.

The main tasks of the Department are:

• ensuring the ethical, cultural and spiritual development of the individual, the education of those, who study in the university, in the spirit of Ukrainian patriotism and respect for the Constitution of Ukraine.
• training of qualified specialists for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, other ministries, central executive bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations of Ukraine;
• development, organization and implementation of the latest educational technologies in the educational process. Involvement of highly qualified specialists of internal affairs bodies, educational and scientific institutions, other institutions and organizations of Ukraine and foreign states;
• conducting basic and applied research in the established priority areas of scientific and research work. Organization and conduct of scientific and research work, scientific and practical activities, creation (formation) of scientific schools, including with the participation of institutions and organizations of Ukraine, foreign and international organizations;
• conducting basic and applied research on contractual topics, publishing their results and implementation in practice.
