The main tasks of the Department are the following:

• organization of the educational process at a level which provides optimal training of highly qualified specialists by improving the content of education, the implementation of the latest educational technologies, enhancing its practical orientation;
• coordination of the educational activities of the university’s departments and divisions regarding the development of structural and logical schemes of specialists training, projects of educational and professional programs, curricula for all forms of education;
• synthesis of proposals and justification of decisions on perspective directions of the University’s educational activities regarding opening or canceling of specialties, forms and types of education, as well as educational, methodological, organizational and informational support of educational units and departments in the field of licensing and accreditation;
• search, review, generalization and approbation of the best practices in the field of the higher education with the purpose of improvement of the effectiveness of usage of study and extracurricular time, pedagogical excellence of scientific and pedagogical staff, the level of methodological support of the educational content;
• organization and direct participation in the implementation of pedagogical control of University’s scientific and teaching staff, accounting and analysis of the quality of cadets’ and students’ education;
• organization of examination commissions' work together with educational departments and units, preparation of graduation documentation and accounting of education documents issuance;
• participation in the supplying of the educational process with textbooks, manuals and service documentation, including in electronic form, coordination of the work of general and special libraries;
• providing assistance to departments in recruitment;
• control over the planning and implementation of the academic workload within overall working hours by departments;
• generalization, development of proposals, and identification of ways for their implementation as for the improvement of the quality of education taking into account the practical experience of the National Police of Ukraine, modern information and methodological support of the educational process, carried out in all educational units of the university.

Educational and Methodological Department consists of the Unit of Educational Process Planning, the Unit of Practical Education, the Unit of Training Quality Monitoring, the Unit of Methodological Work Organization, the Scientific and Methodological Unit.
