The main task of the University is to provide educational services, ie training cadets (students) to meet the needs of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, including further service at the National Police chief positions. Police officers professional training is aimed at adhering to the principles of equality, non-discrimination and cooperation between education applicants. Paying attention to gender issues will help KhNUIA increase the future police officers sensitivity to such problems in their duties performance, which, in turn, will allow the National Police of Ukraine to meet the highest standards of professional reporting. It will also help fulfill commitments on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, Security", the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women in the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine, the Biarritz Partnership.
This is possible if a set of tasks is performed: gender culture forming in the university environment, follow the principles of gender equality in scientific research, prevention of gender discrimination in any form in the development and implementation of educational programs. To determine the ways of further development of gender culture a gender audit was conducted in KhNUIA.
