Solemn events were held on the occasion of the graduation of students of the Lyceum "Law enforcement officer". The festivities traditionally began with the laying of flowers at the monument to the fallen law enforcement officers. Together with the lyceum students, all those present observed a moment of silence for those who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The event was attended by Vice-Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Serhii Bortnyk, Deputy Chief of the MDNP in Kharkiv Region, Police Lieutenant Colonel Serhii Khymych, Director of the Department of Science and Education of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Anzhelika Krutova.
This year is special for the lyceum - it celebrates its first 25th anniversary and for the first time among its graduates, there are girls. And although there are not so many of them - only five out of 58 lyceum students, they are very motivated and persistent in achieving their goals. As well as boys, they connect their future with the law enforcement agencies of our state. The graduates solemnly said goodbye to the Lyceum Flag and said the Lyceum Student's Promise.
On behalf of the Rector of the University, Police General of the 3-rd Rank Valerii Sokurenko, the lyceum graduates were greeted by the Vice-Rector, Police Colonel Serhii Bortnyk, who said: “Time requires constant hard work and self-improvement because in the eyes of every citizen you should be an example in everything. Years of study at the law lyceum are the first steps on the way to the future profession." Serhii Bortnyk wished young men and women confidence and faith in their strength, courage on the way to dreams come true, to be true patriots of Ukraine.
Lyceum students are persistent in education and sports, take an active part in the cultural and social life of the city. Among this year's graduates are excellent students, winners of various stages of All-Ukrainian, city student Olympiads and tournaments, other intellectual competitions, champions and winners of sports competitions in Europe and Ukraine in kickboxing, karate, taekwondo, judo, boxing, rugby, athletics, martial arts, dance competitions. Each of them is a bright and interesting personality, they can do anything - convinced the head of the lyceum Alisa Derbenova. She noted that when graduating from lyceum, boys and girls cease to be students, but remain lyceum students for life, wished them happiness, inspiration in all matters, and the realization of dreams.
Pupils promised to always remember their native lyceum, thanked teachers for knowledge, life, and professional experience, which they generously shared during the years of study, parents - for their support and patience, and assured that they will always be worthy of the title of lyceum student. Vadym Seliukov, a former graduate of the lyceum and now a Lecturer, Associate Professor of the Department of Police Activity and Public Administration of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police Major, addressed the staff of the lyceum, the teachers with words of gratitude.
Boys and girls released white doves into the sky for happiness and good fortune and walked under embroidered Ukrainian towels. A creative gift for them was prepared by an amateur art group, a brass band, and a cadet unit of drummers of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
