Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted ceremonies on the occasion of awarding certificates to patrol police officers who completed tactical and special exercises to combat mass riots. The events were attended by Deputy Chief of the National Police of Ukraine, Police General of the third rank Oleksandr Fatsevych, Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko, Chief of the Patrol Police Department, Police Colonel Yevhenii Zhukov, Head of the Law Enforcement Department of the US Embassy in Ukraine Sarah Langenkamp, Director of ICITAP Regional Program Office in Ukraine Michael Hall, Vice-Rectors, University Staff, and graduates of the training seminar. 

The events began with demonstration performances with the participation of students of the courses, during which they demonstrated the skills and abilities that they mastered during the tactical and special exercises to combat riots.
400 police officers of the NPU Patrol Police Department, including the heads of patrol police departments and their deputies, commanders and deputy commanders of the Tactical and Response Police Troops (TOR), patrol troops, police bicycle patrol and cavalry troops, improved their practical skills for two weeks. crowd management, worked out the coherence and effectiveness of police units in different situations.
These exercises were made possible by the support of the US Department of Justice (ICITAP) International Training Programme for Criminal Investigation in the framework of the International Technical Assistance Project "Support and Sustainability of Reforms in the National Police of Ukraine". Classes were conducted by instructors from the United States who have many years of experience in law
enforcement.
As the Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Oleksandr Fatsevych noted, “in a short period of time you have shown that you are a well-coordinated, powerful and strong team, that our police is ready to ensure order during mass events and, most importantly, to protect human rights during mass events. meetings. I hope that you will now conduct such trainings every year with the staff of the Main Departments of the National Police where you work".

Certificates were handed over. The acquired theoretical and practical knowledge will be applied by police officers of patrol police in daily service activities.
