Daria Fartushna, a 1st-year cadet of the Faculty of Scientific Leadership, took part in The Planet Awards international competition. In her work, prepared in English, the cadet noted that environmental issues have long confused the whole world. The situation that has developed recently, such as quarantine in the spring of 2019, deserves special attention. It was a state of shock, as businesses that had been operating for years stopped and people were forced to stay at home. However, this situation had a positive effect on the environment; the world began to breathe new "lungs of modernity." A striking example of this is a unique phenomenon: the canals of Venice were cleared so that dolphins returned to them. That is why the cadet writes that she considers it her duty to tell about the ecological situation during the quarantine period, participating in this competition.
