Representatives of the Sumy branch, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in the All-Ukrainian TV bridge "From the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk to the Constitution of Ukraine" which was devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine. The event brought together civil servants, historians, scientists, veterans and volunteers from Sumy, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Chernihiv regions and Kyiv. The event was initiated by the Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine and supported by Sumy Regional State Administration.
The main speaker from Sumy region was Lesya Honcharenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Sciences, Sumy Branch,
Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who stressed that the Ukrainian nation expressed its desire to live by law in the early 18th century, evidence of it is
the Constitution of Philip Orlyk. After gaining independence in 1991, Ukrainians began to build their own democratic and legal state, the basic law of which was the
Constitution, which guarantees such long-desired rights of Ukrainian citizens!
Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina stressed that Ukraine has been going on for centuries to recognize its independence, but when there is a national identity, the will of the nation and unity, it happens.
