A training for members of the public and authorities was held in Dnipro to monitor trials and advocate for child-friendly justice. The event was attended by Associate Professor of the Legal Sciences Department of Sumy branch of KhNUIA Yana Sadykova. The training was conducted by the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine within the project “Enhancing Capacity for Trial Monitoring and Advocacy for Child-Friendly Justice Delivery in Ukraine” in cooperation with the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
Participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of international standards and best practices for monitoring trials. The standards of child-friendly justice were discussed, much attention was paid to the methodology of monitoring trials in cases involving children and the peculiarities of advocacy of child-friendly justice.
The knowledge and skills gained during the training will be additional sources that will be used to support and advocate for child-friendly justice.
