Advisor to the Rector for Gender Issues, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Oksana Tsukan presented to the University Library "Guidelines for the integration of gender approaches into the training system for the security and defense sector of Ukraine."
Kharkiv University of Internal Affairs is a pilot institution of higher education for the development and implementation of "Guidelines for the integration of gender approaches into the training system for the security and defense sector of Ukraine." Implementation is coordinated by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the participation of the Government Office for Coordination on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Government Commissioner for Gender Equality Policy, and with the technical support of UN Women in Ukraine funded by the Government of Sweden.
Consolidation of positive achievements in the state policy on the observance of equal rights and opportunities for men and women is a necessary condition for the integration of the gender component into the educational process. It is also an important prerequisite for removing barriers to gender equality caused by widespread gender stereotypes about female and male roles. Such stereotypes not only shape perceptions but also affect the lives and future of young men and women, as they are crucial for the realization of their constitutional rights. This is especially true for the security and defense sector. The implementation of these recommendations in the educational process is part of a comprehensive approach to European and Euro-Atlantic integration and is based on practical advice on the necessary components of the process and a certain algorithm of actions to start it.
The library invites the university community to read the new edition.
