20 journalists from Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions took part in the training "Legal aspects of journalists' work in conflict zones and international law" at Kharkiv Press Club on July 30, 2021.

In the first part of the training, the representatives of the media society gained knowledge about international and national standards of freedom of speech in conflict zones, the status of the media and journalists, the rights and responsibilities of media representatives, mechanisms to protect the rights to disseminate information. They also talked about how adhering to professional standards, it is possible to provide the audience with prompt and verified information and at the same time not to harm the national security of the state.

In the second part of the training, journalists from eastern Ukraine learned about the specifics of working with digital information and cybersecurity. In particular, they pumped up skills to protect accounts, e-mail, and websites from hacking, tracking, viruses, and spyware. Learned to safely use wi-fi and the Internet to search for information.

Useful trainings for mass media were conducted by scientists of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs: Head of Department of Criminal Law and Criminology, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Oleksii Lytvynov, Head of Department of Constitutional and International Law Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Mykola Marchuk, Senior lecturer at Department of Information Technologies and Cybersecurity Oleksii Rvachov.
