Oleksandr Balabin, a second-year student of the 6th faculty of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, won the Ukrainian Youth Boxing Championship, which took place from July 26 to August 1 in Kharkiv.

In his weight category of 75 kg, Oleksandr held four meetings. The first two fights against Odessa boxers ended with a confident victory of Oleksandr in the second round. In the third match, our athlete competed with the multiple champion of Ukraine from Zaporizhzhia and also won by a unanimous decision of the judges.

In the final, most difficult, fight the boxer met with the representative of Poltava region - the favorite of the championship of Ukraine. The fight was intense and spectacular, at the end of which the judges recognized the absolute victory of our athlete.

Oleksandr Balabin won a gold medal and a ticket to the European Championships to be held in October in Montenegro.
