Camp gathering, as for emotional state, is one of the most difficult periods for the first-year cadets who have entered a university with specific learning conditions. Most of them feel stress at the beginning of their stay in the new environment. The process of adaptation begins later, but the first week of the camp gathering for boys and girls is difficult.
That is why the employees of the psychological support service of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs at the beginning of the camp gathering make every effort to adapt first year cadets and reduce psychological stress. During the first week, meetings with a psychologist are held in a group format so that as many people as possible can be reached. During these meetings, cadets meet a psychologist and each other. Everything happens in the form of games, training and practical interaction. Exercises are aimed at faster acquaintance and acceptance of each other, the formation of group cohesion, the ability to act together in a team. In addition, the tension is relieved during the game, and informal communication promotes more trusting interaction. First-year cadets learn how they can, if necessary, get "emergency psychological care" individually, and understand that they are not alone with their difficulties.
In the future, psychological diagnostics of each cadet and individually oriented psychoprophylactic work are planned.
