Celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new academic year took place at Kremenchug Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. At the memorial "Glory to the helicopter pilots" in the Dnieper Park, cadets, students and teachers of the college, parents of the first-year students were greeted by the First Vice-Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, college management, honored guests, including Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi and a former graduate of the Flight College, and now the People's Deputy of Ukraine Maksym Berezin and others.

The participants observed a minute of silence honored pilot and college graduates who gave their lives  implementing professional and public duty, defending the unity and independence of Ukraine, and laid flowers to the memory board of the deceased pilot - navigator, graduate of Kremenchug Flight College Dmytro Movchan.

On behalf of the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko, the first Vice-Rector, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets, congratulated the cadets and students of the college on the Day of Knowledge. "Do not lose opportunities, bravely go forward, master the complex sciences, good deeds and dedicated service strengthen the authority and glory of Kremenchug Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs! Dear first-year students, I am convinced that for each of you the college will be a worthy start for professional growth.

Today, the college faces new important tasks and challenges to provide high-class pilots, aviation specialists of the maintenance and technical staff of the helicopter service, which is created by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. They will save lives and help fight crime in the National Police and National Guard units, the State Emergency Service and the State Border Guard Service.

We are grateful to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for their help in building our educational institution, for their support and understanding."

Dmytro Shvets also presented letters of thanks and diplomas to teachers and employees of educational institutions from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Academic Council of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

The first-year students  were awarded a symbolic attribute of study - "Student Ticket". The right to receive it was given to the first-year pilot Kateryna Farafonova. On behalf of all first-year students, she promised to study well and proudly hold the title of the cadet and student of Kremenchug Flight College.

The celebrations ended with a performance by the vocal group of the college "Wings". Balloons flew into the sky with a wish to all first-year students  high flight, creative achievements and clear sky.
