Events were held in Sumy to celebrate the 366th anniversary of the city. The festivities began with a student march of higher education institutions. The column of students of Sumy universities was headed by the mayor, representatives of the city authorities, director of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Serhii Lukash. They walked along the central street of the city to the Youth Center "Romance", where the student festival "City that unites youth" took place.
The festival was opened by the Youth Anthem of Sumy. The mayor of the city, Oleksandr Lysenko, addressed the student youth with congratulatory words. He wished them to be active, gain knowledge, improve themselves and make plans for the future.
On the occasion of the City Day, Sumy residents were awarded for achievements in professional, public and educational activities. Among the winners there were representatives of Sumy branch of KhNUIA. Leading specialist of the personnel department Hanna Mititiel, the second-year cadet Mykola Siroshtan and the third- year student Elvira Sporysh were awarded diplomas of Sumy Mayor. The award of the People's Deputy of Ukraine was received by the chairman of the student and cadet parliament of Sumy branch of KhNUIA, the fourth-year student Maryna Haidar.
At the student festival, hosted by Mykola Siroshtan, the second-year cadet of Sumy branch of KhNUIA, the higher education institution was represented by the vocal ensemble Divotsvit, soloists of the modern song studio Richard Petrenko, Tetiana Bykova, the patriotic choreographic performance "Come back alive" played by Anna Ausheva and Roman Tahanskyi, The first-year students presented a student flashmob "Over Ukraine".
Sumy branch of KhNUIA
