We invite students for higher education of KhNUIA to join the Levitt course of the Institute for International Development "Critical thinking and advocacy as the basis of a free society".
The Leavitt Institute for International Development (TLI) is an American non-profit organization aimed at training students and legal practitioners who are well versed in Western legal ethics, think critically and practice Ukrainian law. This course is taught by experienced American and Canadian lawyers and judges who are wish to represent the adversarial justice system, reveal the principles of democracy, speak about the basics of the jury trial and its basic elements.
As part of its program, the Levitt Institute works with law graduates for two semesters - 10 weeks in the fall and 10 weeks in the spring.
The autumn semester of the 2021-2022 academic year will start on September 21, 2021. Classes will be held every Tuesday at 18.00.
The courses will be conducted in English. The training in 2021-2022 academic year will be conducted remotely (via Zoom).
Students for higher education will have the opportunity to develop skills in law and investigation by attending this course, namely: the art of persuasion, analysis of facts, teamwork, cooperation and representation in court that are necessary for the construction and development of Ukrainian democratic institutions.
After 80% of classes attendance the applicants for higher education will have the opportunity to participate in regional and national mock trial competitions and receive a certificate of passing the course.
At the end of the academic year the Levitt Institute selects applicants for higher education on a competitive basis and gives them the opportunity to do an internship for three weeks in the United States or Canada.
