Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs has started trainings on the safety of journalists for media representatives from different regions of Ukraine. The event was organized jointly with the Kharkiv Press Club.

23 representatives of mass media from Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions came to the university. The event was opened by the Rector of the University, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko and the First Vice-Rector, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets. They stressed the importance of the work of media specialists in objective and impartial coverage of events, in particular, in eastern Ukraine, and stressed the observance of personal safety rules when working in dangerous conditions. The Rector noted that the university teachers will hold capacious and informative master classes, wished the participants new, useful knowledge and fruitful work.

The training program is for two days. The first day is dedicated to the topic "Safety of a journalist during mass events and in the war zone". The topic of the second day of classes is "First aid in accordance with the standards of the international program BLS (basic life support)".
