A meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of a short-term training program for civil servants and local government officials in the field of cybersecurity was held on the basis of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
Liliia Hrudko, National Manager of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, Olha Voitovych, National Project Manager of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, Tetiana Ishchenko, Deputy Director - Head of the Training Center of the Ukrainian School of Government, Head of the 4th Department ("date") of the 3rd Department (Information Technologies and Programming) of the Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine Stanislav Samoilov, Head of the Cyber Security Coordination Department of the Digital Infrastructure and Security Department of the Digital Transformation Department of Kharkiv City Council Dmytro Meleshko, Oleksandr Manzhai, acting as Head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime, Faculty No.4 (Cyberpolice), Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, and Vitalii Nosov, Professor of the same Department took part in the meeting of the working group.
Rector of the University, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko opened the event. He focused on the fact that in the context of the constant deployment of digital transformation in Ukraine at private and public levels, increasing the number of electronic services provided by state and local governments, improving the knowledge and skills of employees in these areas Cybersecurity is an urgent and important task.
The Rector wished the participants of the working group fruitful work and noted that the University staff has been actively cooperating with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine in the implementation of various international projects in the field of combating cybercrime and crimes related to human trafficking as well as improving cyber hygiene of government officials.
The working group met as part of the continuation of the project "Strengthening the Capacities of Ukrainian Government Bodies in the Field of Cyber Hygiene and Cyber Security", implemented by the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine and aimed at increasing the capacity of Ukrainian government agencies increasing the level of cybersecurity.
As a result of the meeting a questionnaire was developed for the heads of IT departments of the authorities to identify the most pressing issues related to cybersecurity. A specialized course on cybersecurity and relevant recommendations for government officials and local governments will be developed taking into account the results of the questionnaire.
