The Department of International Cooperation organized an informative meeting for applicants for higher education of KhNUIA with the coordinator of the program in Kharkiv region Levitt Institute of International Development Oksana Karpenko. The event was attended by cadets and students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, staff of the Department of International Cooperation.
During the meeting, Oksana Karpenko acquainted the participants with the Levitt course of the Institute for International Development "Critical Thinking and Advocacy as the Basis of a Free Society", its tasks and structure.
It was noted that the course is lectured by experienced American and Canadian lawyers and judges who are willing to represent the adversarial justice system, reveal the principles of democracy, talk about the basics of the jury trial and its main elements.
The course lasts 10 weeks in autumn and 10 weeks in spring.
The beginning of the autumn semester of the 2021-2022 academic year will start on September 21, 2021. Classes will be held every Tuesday at 6 p.m. The courses will be conducted in English. Education in 2021-2022 academic year will be performed remotely (via Zoom).
The Head of the International Cooperation Department Olena Ustymenko noted that participation in the course will allow applicants for higher education to improve their English language skills by communicating with foreign experts, develop personal skills, work in a team, express their own opinions and learn to provide legal assessment of different situations.
