Olena Svitlakova, Deputy Director of the Scientific Library of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, took part in the online format of the XII Lviv International Library Forum, which took place within the framework of the 28th BookForum. This year's theme of the Biblioforum was "Library is a dimension of independence".

The forum is the main event of the year for the entire professional community and the most popular meeting place for leaders and leading specialists of libraries, scientists, teachers of higher education institutions, publishers, authors, readers, information service providers, members and partners of the Ukrainian Library Association. This year the event was attended by specialists from the National Library of Germany and the head of the "American Centers" program of the US Embassy in Ukraine.

The ssues of library contribution to the independence of Ukraine, paradigm shifts in the modern library, advocacy experience, etc. were discussed during the forum. Discussions were held on the promotion of reading, the influence of reading on the formation of identity, the creation of libraries of space and reading skills, the promotion of books, and others. Issues related to the transformation of libraries into modern digital education hubs were covered, namely - how libraries became a strategic partner of the project "Action. Digital Education ", issues of professional information and library education and media literacy. The issues of lifelong learning and the role of libraries in this were discussed separately.

During the forum, its participants exchanged innovative experiences with Ukrainian and foreign colleagues. Much attention was paid to the cooperation of libraries and publishers within the framework of state programs to replenish library funds and publish socially significant literature.
