For cadets and students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines organized bus tours to the memorial complex "Drobytskyi Yar", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy of Babyn Yar.

Drobytskyi Yar Memorial is directly connected with this tragedy. It was there, in the eastern part of Kharkiv, on the territory of Drobytskyi Yar tract, in late 1941-early 1942, for several weeks, special Nazi units methodically and ruthlessly destroyed mostly elderly people, women and children of Jewish nationality gathered nearby in a temporary ghetto. Then the victims of Nazism were about 20 thousand civilians.

Today, Drobytskyi Yar memorial complex includes a park, monuments, a museum with a mourning hall and a bowl of mourning, where thousands of names of victims of the tragedy are immortalized on white marble tablets. At the entrance to the complex is a majestic memorial - the menorah.

Visitors will also get acquainted with the new interactive component of the museum exposition, which will open on September 29, 2021.
