This is the name of a new exhibition prepared by the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work. It is dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the birth of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi (29.09.1866-24.11.1934) – a prominent historian, literary critic, ethnographer and writer, one of the leading public and state figures of the period of the national liberation revolution of 1917-1921.

The exhibition presents photos and documents from the time of his activity, biographical and personal works of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi. During the presentation of the exhibition for students of the faculty group №6, who visited it along with the curator associate professor of social sciences and humanities faculty №6 Nataliia Kobylko, the main milestones of the biography of the outstanding scientist, his main achievements as a national awakening politician and scientist were mentioned. In fact, it was Mykhailo Hrushevskyi who returned his own history to Ukrainians.

History plays a major role in shaping the self-consciousness of every nation. In the history of the Ukrainian nation, the name of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi is in the first cohort, as he was destined to connect the broken chain of ancient Russian history with the period of the Cossacks with the following ones. In his numerous works, he argued the direct connection of the Ukrainian people with ancient Russia – the first real state of Ukraine-Russia.

Western and Dnieper Ukraine, then torn between other states, merged in its own destiny. The scientist's family suffered painful blows from the Red Empire, as did the entire Ukrainian people.

Science has always been the main “weapon” of the Hrushevskyi-patriot. Mykhailo Hrushevskyi's high humanism and legal culture made his political activity perhaps too moderate, according to our contemporaries. But such a scientifically and morally impeccable line did not offend its main idea: the identity of the Ukrainian people and the right to independent state existence.

The study and popularization of the scientific heritage and biography of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi is no less relevant today than during the years of the national liberation revolution of 1917-1921, as the struggle for the heritage of Russia continues in the modern information field. And, as the modern history of Ukraine proves, the protection of borders begins with the protection of its history and self-consciousness.

Thematic tours of the new exhibition are made to order at a convenient time, and the exhibition itself is open to the public and is located next to the University Museum.

Measures are carried out in accordance with current quarantine requirements.
