Vitalii Naida, the Head of the School of Scientific Leadership of the Faculty №1 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, took part in a seminar on “Democracy in the 21st Century. Challenges of democracy during a pandemic: social and political participation of young people”. The seminar was held as part of the international program “Empowerment of young leaders during a pandemic”. The program aims to inspire young activists from Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to take collective action to address common challenges and build a more sustainable society following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The speaker was George Melashvili, a public figure and East Asian scholar who is the founder and president of the Europe-Georgia Institute and a member of the Policy Designers Network of the German Marshall Fund.
As part of the online event, participants actively discussed the problematic aspects of youth participation in democratic transformations, corruption, worldview problems and ways to solve them in the Eastern Partnership countries.
