Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko took part in the closing ceremony of the first training for trainers on police and community interaction, which took place from 17 to 24 November 2021 at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko, Head of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine Antti Hartikainen, Head of the Canadian Police Mission in Ukraine, Canadian Contingent Commander Bruce Prange, Head of the EUMC Regional Office Martin Kulisek, Rectors and Vice-Rectors of of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The training for trainers "Interaction of the police with the community" for teachers of Higher Education Institutions with specific learning conditions was held at the Expert Center for Interaction between the Police and the Community of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. It consisted of the following modules: “Community-Based Policing”, “Community-Based Policing as a Problem-Solving Model”, “Communication”, “De-escalation Communication”, “Local Problems, Local Solutions, Citizens Advisory Group / HUB Police ”,“ Human Rights and Gender ”,“ Domestic Violence ”,“ Ethics and Core Values ”,“ Effective Communication with Youth ”.
The training was attended by 17 representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs: Associate Professor of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Faculty № 3 Victoriia Dotsenko and Senior Lecturer of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Faculty № 3 Olena Makarova.
All training participants received certificates.
