An online lecture "Gender equality, UNSCR 1325 and the SMM" for applicants for higher education took place at  Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The main speaker of the event was Jacob Dinneen, SMM OSCE Monitoring Officer, Gender Focal Point in Kharkiv team.
During the event, the speaker informed about the areas of activity and tasks of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, emphasized the content, purpose and principles of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security", focusing in detail on issues of gender equality, in particular combating gender-based violence. The speaker noted that the strategy for achieving gender equality still needs attention. In addition, Jacob Dinneen shared his work experience in the Special Monitoring Mission, told about his experience in Ukraine. During the presentation, participants took an active part in the discussions, asked questions and received comprehensive answers.
