The war in Ukraine is a reminder of the relevance of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace and Security", which calls for the involvement of women in all spheres of peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Women and girls face the devastating consequences of the war in Ukraine, while at the same time they are on the front lines, leading efforts in the fields of humanitarian aid, human rights and the security sector.
Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs is one of the leading institutions of higher education that developed, implemented and analyzed the implementation of the previous and current Regional Action Plan for the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, Security". The "Equal Opportunities" team of the university, as active participants of the "Kharkivshchyna 1325" Local Coalition, took part in the event of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, during which the important role of Ukrainian women in politics, defense, protection and humanitarian support to ensure the peace was discussed.
