In accordance with the recommendations of the Gender Audit of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the decision of the Scientific Council of the KhNUIA dated November 1, 2021 No. 10 regarding the approval of Gender Equality Plans at the KhNUIA, a workshop on the use of non-discriminatory language "European Regional Partnership for Gender Equality in the Age of Digital Technologies" was held. The informational and educational event is aimed at maintaining a positive social and psychological climate at the university and forming a gender culture of equal responsibilities.

"Today you are conducting a workshop on a very actual topic that combines the security component with gender equality and is the basis for the formation of gender parity in the security sector. Gender parity in the field of security and science is considered as a component of socio-economic growth and innovative development. Development and growth must provide equal opportunities for people to realize their potential regardless of gender, socio-economic conditions and ethnic origin. Today, gender parity has become one of the important indicators of democracy. It has become the topic of international meetings at the highest level, the goal of the policies of the governments of various countries, including our country, the policies of the United Nations and the European Union",- Kateryna Pavlichenko said.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and subordinate educational institutions of the security sector adhere to European approaches in forming a non-discriminatory language and ensuring equal rights and opportunities in order to overcome gender asymmetry in society, stereotyping and discriminatory attitudes",- Inna Yashchuk noted.

The workshop was organized within the Horizon 2020 program project "European Regional Partnership for Gender Equality in the Digital Age" (EQUALS-EU). One of the project tasks is to implement innovations and tools that include gender issues in private and public sectors together with European partners and to inspire the next generation of innovators, motivating a new group of leaders to implement gender justice practices.

The Horizon 2020 program is an EU initiative, the largest program that supports the development of science and the implementation of innovations on a competitive basis.

The workshop was conducted by Oksana Tsukan, candidate of legal sciences, associate professor, assistant to the rector for gender issues of KhNUIA, anti-discrimination expert.https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/14038
