Within the framework of the charity project «BRITISH forensic equipment in practical activity and educational process» Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs has handed over two batches of forensic equipment to the practical forensic units of the Kharkiv region, namely: Kharkiv Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Forensic Units of the Main Office of the National Police in the Kharkiv Region.
The project was implemented with the assistance of Valerii Sokurenko, rector of KhNUIA, with support of the Forensic Capability Network (FCN), which is part of the National Police Chiefs Council of the United Kingdom (NPCC), as well as with the personal assistance of Joan Morrissey – FCN HR Strategy Manager, and Anna Markowska – Deputy director of the Police Institute of the Eastern Region (PIER, Cambridge, United Kingdom) in cooperation with the Research Lab for psychological support of law enforcement activities (Oleksii Serdiuk).
In particular, the following were transferred: SLR cameras, copy stands, multi-spectral forensic lamps, electronic scales, heat sealers, laboratory utensils, kits for removing various types of traces from the crime scene, etc.
The transferred equipment will be used in the documentation and investigation of crimes, in particular those committed by the aggressor.
