On May 31, 2023, Yevhen Shalenko, police colonel, USSR Master of Sports in the decathlon, who headed the Department of Physical Training since 1994, and from 1999 to 2003 - the Department of Special and Physical Training of the 4-6 faculties, passed away. He made a great contribution to the development of the departmental education system, including physical culture and sports, having trained many generations of law enforcement officers to be physically hardened, enduring, and ready to perform their duties related to crime prevention and protection of citizens' rights and freedoms. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/16413
