"Equal Opportunities" team of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs: Oksana Tsukan, Assistant to the Rector on Gender Issues, Maryna Petchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Social and Economic Disciplines, Nadiia Serhiienko, Specialist of Department of International Cooperation, took part in V Gender Forum – 2023: "Equal Rights – the Great Opportunities ".

The event was held under the patronage of the head of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Japarova at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs base.

The purpose of the Forum was to consolidate the actions of authorities, local governments, international organizations, public associations, social partners, other representatives of civil society, institutions and organizations in various fields to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men for the sustainable development of territorial communities.

Representatives of executive and local self-government bodies, united territorial communities, institutions of higher education, international and public organizations, attended the event.

During the Forum, following topics as:

  • practical aspects of regional policy;
  • internally displaced persons in Dnipropetrovsk region: gender profile;
  • gender-based violence in modern conditions in Ukraine and ways to overcome it;
  • economic and social development of territories (professional education and demographic changes);
  • the place of gender-oriented budgeting in the reconstruction of communities;
  • Gender rooms in territorial communities for people, who suffered from the violence, has being discussed.

Interactive panel contains discussions and trainings on:

  • practices of combating gender-based violence in communities;
  • breaking the cycle of domestic violence;
  • stabilization of the person psycho-emotional condition after-traumatic experience during the war;
  • war and family: "strangers among you", "alone in a crowd";
