Representatives of the “Equal Opportunities” team of KhNUIA - Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Oksana Tsukan and Candidate of Sociology, Associate Professor Nataliia Bobro - took part in an online meeting of Kharkiv Region 1325 Coalition to discuss measures to implement the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security for the period up to 2025.

The event addressed a wide range of issues: overcoming the humanitarian crisis, security audit of the territories in Kharkiv region, countering the CNDP, availability and accessibility of medical treatment for HIV-positive people and representatives of the LGBT community, needs of women with disabilities and their guardians.Nataliia Bobro presented the results of the sociological survey “Dignity and Security: Focused Assistance”. The study was conducted to identify the existing humanitarian needs of persons with disabilities and their caregivers, as well as to strengthen women's participation in humanitarian planning.

Based on the results of the study, recommendations were made to the management of UN Women in Ukraine and the NGO “Humanitarian Aid Center ‘Volunteer-68’ to improve the information of persons with disabilities and their guardians about the availability of products and services through a specially created flexible Ukrainian-language online environment. The resource is easy to use and maintain and is aimed at meeting the needs of people with disabilities, taking into account various diagnoses. The participants of the event also discussed the issues of improving the social protection system for people with disabilities and creating decent living conditions for this group of citizens in the context of war. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/20441
