Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities and Ukrainian Studies, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Natalia KOBYLKO, took part in the International Scientific Conference "How Homer Became Simpson: Interpretation of Classical Literature in the Modern Literary and Media Space". The event was organized by Berdyansk State Pedagogical University. The participants' work was divided into five sections: "Reception of ancient plots in modern mass culture and literature", "Dialogue of eras: classical literature as a source of modern narratives", "National peculiarities of reception of classical and artistic works in cinema, literature and theater", "Strategies for recoding classical texts into modern media cultural and literary formats". The importance of the conference theme is evidenced by the wide geography of both domestic and foreign researchers.

Natalia KOBYLKO delivered a report "Author's interpretation of the myth of the dog-headed man in the mystical thriller of Oleksandr Zavara", where she touched on the topic of the popularity of the genre, its functions and impact on the recipient. She investigated the well-known myth of cruel creatures - dog-headed men, and a new interpretation by a modern Ukrainian author, which gave him the opportunity to reveal a number of social problems.https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/25645
