Representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine conducted a training course on training future trainers in working with Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and conducting criminal investigations for academic staff and cadets of the Educational and Research Institutes No.1, No.2 and No.4. The event took place within the framework of the EUAM international technical assistance project “Operational Support to Providing Strategic Advice for the Reform of the Civilian Security Sector in Ukraine (2024 - 2027)”.

EUAM Senior OSINT Advisors Juan Carlos Arias LOPEZ and Theo MANDOCCHI introduced the participants to the theoretical foundations and practical tools of OSINT. During the four-day training, participants conducted practical exercises, examined real cases, worked in groups and presented the results of their research. During the debate, they discussed the advantages and difficulties of using OSINT tools in criminal investigations.

All participants successfully passed the final testing and received certificates.

Mykola MARCHUK, Director of the Educational and Research Institute No. 4, expressed his gratitude to the mission representatives: “We sincerely appreciate the support of EUAM. Such training initiatives contribute to the training of specialists who possess modern digital investigation tools.”

Tetiana MATIUSHKOVA, Head of the International Cooperation Department of KhNUIA, emphasized: “Conducting such training courses during the war is not only a sign of solidarity, but also real support in improving the professional skills of teachers and cadets. We hope for the further development of cooperation with EUAM.”

The training was an important step in improving OSINT skills among Ukrainian law enforcement officers and strengthened the partnership contacts of KhNUIA with international structures, contributing to increasing the efficiency of criminal investigations in accordance with European standards. https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/25670
