Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was represented in the program by: Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Organization of Pre-Trial Investigation of the ERI No. 1 Tetiana FOMINA, who participated in the development and implementation of the program and preparation of training modules, as well as Associate Professor of the same Department Valeriia HNATENKO.

For three days, the program participants worked out key aspects of working with people in states of vulnerability in criminal proceedings. The program covered:

  • recognition of states of vulnerability and their impact on behavior and communication;
  • algorithm for preparing and scheduling interviews;
  • building psychological contact, taking into account the emotional state of the person;
  • techniques for obtaining information in difficult situations;
  • interaction with specialists involved in the interview.

The final stage was a practical exercise, during which the participants conducted a procedural interview with persons in a simulated state of vulnerability, working out a full algorithm of actions.

The university's participation in the program will contribute to the introduction of the methodology of procedural interviews in the educational process and the training of future law enforcement officers in accordance with modern international standards.
